Victorinox - 6" Grand Maître Forged Utility/Chef's Knife - 7.7403.15G
Model Number: VICT-7.7403.15G
Description

For amateur cooks and professional chefs alike, the Grand Maître collection is all about balance. Each piece in this widely-sought range is of a full-tang construction, uniformly hardened and forged from a single piece. Because of this, the transition from blade to handle is sleekly seamless, with the latter ergonomically shaped for comfort even over sustained periods.
Exceptional quality and timeless elegance are two defining features of the Grand Maître series of forged knives from Victorinox. For which every piece seamlessly transitions from blade to handle with just a subtle thickening of the steel to act as a separating bolster at the point where the two meet. The bolster also prevents your hand from slipping between the handle and the blade. The Grand Maître Chef’s Knife 15 cm is one such piece – one that, when used to chop, slice or dice by either professional chef or home cook, delivers careful cutting with minimal effort. The high-carbon stainless steel provides maximum sharpness and edge retention and the blade is ice-tempered to sustain sharpness longer and give the desired effect when re-sharpened. The triple-rivet handle is ergonomically designed to provide optimum weight, balance, and comfort while the plastic over molded (POM) handle will hold its shape and not crack or separate from the blade.
- Single-piece, full-tang construction
- Bolsterless edge for use of entire blade and ease of sharpening
- Hand washing recommended
- Lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects
- Hot-drop forged in Germany
- Finished in Switzerland
The Making of The Name
Originating from inside Karl Elsener's cutler workshop in 1884, Victorinox stands for quality, functionality, innovation & iconic design & has done so for more than 130 years! Victorinox comes from Karl's mother's name Victoria & inox, the international term for stainless steel. Combining the two words "Victoria" & "Inox" gives the name of the company & brand today - Victorinox.
Swiss Army Knife
In 1891, Karl Elsener delivered the first major supply of 'soldiers knives' to the Swiss Army. The term 'Swiss Army Knife' was coined by American soldiers after World War II due to the difficulty in pronouncing its German name. By 1945, the Swiss Army Knife becomes known all over the world. US soldiers buy it in large quantities & it becomes a popular souvenir to take home.
Long Term Thinking
Is it because of the Swiss roots? The 130-year history? Or is it simply because of the deep connection with nature? The fact is that Victorinox has always felt an obligation to treat resources & colleagues responsibly. Sustainability is an integral part of Victorinox's corporate strategy. That is why they work tirelessly to improve production processes and look after corporate culture.
