Victorinox - 6" Rosewood Chef Knife - 5.2000.15R-X1
Model Number: VICT-5.2000.15R-X1
Description

The Rosewood collection from Victorinox combines ergonomic handles in a naturally strong raw material with ultrasharp, efficient blades. Long been considered an ideal material for knife handles, Rosewood is highly robust and gives each model a unique patterning. We prize the carefully hand-polished Rosewood knives for their comfortable feel and elegant look.
Sized between a typical chef's knife and a utility knife, the 6" Rosewood Chef's Knife's versatility makes it a great all-purpose knife essential to any kitchen. The width of the blade, which is slightly wider than a standard utility knife, offers added heft needed for larger tasks. The shorter blade length allows for better maneuverability, especially when performing more precise cutting tasks. The result is an extremely versatile knife that is equally suited for skinning a pineapple or watermelon, dicing onions, mincing shallots, chopping herbs, or slicing meats of many varieties.

The Making of The Name
Originating from inside Karl Elsener's cutler workshop in 1884, Victorinox stands for quality, functionality, innovation & iconic design & has done so for more than 130 years! Victorinox comes from Karl's mother's name Victoria & inox, the international term for stainless steel. Combining the two words "Victoria" & "Inox" gives the name of the company & brand today - Victorinox.
Swiss Army Knife
In 1891, Karl Elsener delivered the first major supply of 'soldiers knives' to the Swiss Army. The term 'Swiss Army Knife' was coined by American soldiers after World War II due to the difficulty in pronouncing its German name. By 1945, the Swiss Army Knife becomes known all over the world. US soldiers buy it in large quantities & it becomes a popular souvenir to take home.
Long Term Thinking
Is it because of the Swiss roots? The 130-year history? Or is it simply because of the deep connection with nature? The fact is that Victorinox has always felt an obligation to treat resources & colleagues responsibly. Sustainability is an integral part of Victorinox's corporate strategy. That is why they work tirelessly to improve production processes and look after corporate culture.
Awards & Commitments
Victorinox is regularly awarded for its actions in innovation, sustainability & social commitment & has been honoured with numerous awards for their environmental commitment, capacity for innovation and sustainable management. Numerous labels lend an official stamp to this commitment, including Green Dot, a recycling packaging label.
