All-Clad - D3 Stainless 12" Flat Lid - L3912 RL

This is a Christmas gift. I have been using stainless steel cookware over 40 years and I know that this would be a great gift for my daughter. She has just started cooking and this would be a great addition to start with. If it is good for chefs it has to be of value and bonus it is Canadian.

Great quality. Even heat distribution.

The diameter of the pan is great but the edge height could be a tad higher to better ensure sauces and foods that require constant stirring don't spill/splash out. FYI 4QT is to the very brim of the pan, you would never cook with that much liquid in it (safely). Assume 3QT is the maximum you'll be able to fit in it.

I bought the D3 Stainless Steel 12" Fry Pan with lid recently and washed it in dish detergent water before using it. After using it, I washed it again, but it did not look clean, so I left it in the soapy water for 20 minutes and tried to wash it again. The pan is actually clean but it doesn't look clean. See photo attached. I have other stainless steel pots and pans but none of them look like this after washing. The exterior of the pan and the lid has maintained its beautiful appearance. Please advise how I can make the appearance of the interior of the pan match the exterior of the pan.

Very impressed with the quality of clad D 3. Excellent size of all three

This is my first set of stainless steel pans. I was wanting to ditch teflon pans and after a bit of research settled on All-Clad based on their excellent reviews. I was so stainless steel illiterate that I didn't know anything about layered pans with aluminum and had to research if this was a benefit or a cheaper quality. But, these All-Clad pans are amazing. They look great, are hefty and the set delivers everything you could need, outside of a 12" frying pan which I ordered to accompany this set.

The transition to stainless steel has been very smooth as I was conduction lots of research on how to properly use stainless steel and once you get the technique of the leidenfrost effect you can cook anything. My first thing I cooked was fried eggs and had excellent results. I even have my 9 and 11 year olds using the pans and preheating correctly and doing the water test.

Clean up is a breeze, they cook excellent and I've even noticed that cooking in the pots is much faster than my old teflon pots and I'm assuming it's due to the even heating and heat retention of the pots. The lids also help as they fit so securely that even steam doesn't escape which helps cook the food faster.

This is an amazing set and I cannot recommend it enough, as long as you are committed to learning how to use stainless steel correctly which is not difficult at all.

I purchased this pan to accompany the 10 piece set I bought which only have a 8" & 10" pan. First off, Chef Supplies did a great job packaging and the shopping experience was great, I'll use their service again.

The pan itself is my first forray into stainless steel and I wanted my first pans to be excellent quality and All-Clad delivers. The pan is hefty but not nearly as heavy as my cast iron. I was initially worried as my electric glass top stove only has an 8" element and I was worried the pan would never heat evenly to the edges. Now it does take longer to get up to temperature on the edges but I just move the pan around on the burner during the preheating. The pan cooks great and clean up is a breeze.

If you want to move away from teflon to stainless steel like I did, do some research on how to properly use stainless steel and the transition will be smooth.
