    Not quite as refined but functional

    My original Zwilling peeler is still going strong after 20 years. I purchased 3 at Christmas for gifts (one more for us), so I was able to compare the new with old. The new product has the exact same handle which is nicely ergonomic with good and safe gripping. The blade, though it is still made of stainless steel, is less refined in appearance and maybe quality of stainless, but works more or less similar to the old. The blade and cutting edge is shorter. The stainless looks a little more rough .. is not as nicely polished. The tip is more pointed and not finished as elegantly. Peeling is good, though minutely less smooth than the original. To be fair, Zwilling is probably at the mercy of their remote manufacturers and mass manufacturing.The blade is fixed, unlike others that swivel (not my preference), and should work well for either left or right handed users. If I didn’t have the old one to compare with, I would have just said this peeler works well. Cost is about 4 times what I paid 20 years ago.
